BT Music and Performing Arts was founded by concert pianist and educator Dr. Benal Tanrısever Şimşek, who combined her experience gained through an international artistic career with her goal of creating a sustainable music education model for children and young people in Türkiye.

Tanrısever is known for her concerts on prestigious stages around the world over the years, as well as for her workshops contributing to the creative development of children, educational television programs, and social responsibility projects. After spending 18 years in New York, Berlin, and Copenhagen, the artist returned to Türkiye and expanded her impact in the field of education by sharing her international experience with young people at Bilkent University.

Recognizing the importance of working with children at an early age for music education to have a lasting impact, Tanrısever, after completing one of the world's most prestigious pedagogical trainings at the Juilliard School, founded BT Müzikevi (BT Music House) in 1997. This institution became a turning point in Türkiye in terms of early childhood music education, creative learning models, and an interdisciplinary approach to art.

In later years, the institution, which became BT Music and Performing Arts, adopted an educational philosophy based on the belief that every child can learn to play an instrument, express themselves on stage, and forge a lifelong connection with art through the right methods, contemporary pedagogical approaches, and a personalized curriculum. Thanks to the unique methodologies, educational materials, and program structures developed in line with this vision, the institution has reached thousands of students and has become one of the leading institutions in Türkiye when it comes to quality music education.
